The design and development of Product Service Systems (PSS), i.e. set of products marketed together with services for fulfilling in a more intelligent way the users’ needs, require a high integration of modern ICT-based engineering tools and technologies. In particular, the easy, ubiquitous and fast sharing of product and process information / knowledge across the entire lifecycle of PSS is of paramount importance. In the context of the Horizon 2020 initiative, the European Commission has recently launched and promoted a European call for research projects in the area of PSS.
